BossPicks Rules
Last updated: 19 January 2026
These rules explain how BossPicks leaderboards work, how picks, wins, streaks, and points are calculated, how ties are resolved and any other rules. These apply together with our Terms and Conditions.
1. Overview
BossPicks runs three leaderboards types:
- Wins Leaderboard
- Streak Leaderboard
- Points Leaderboard
Leaderboards run for fixed periods, from 1 week to 1 calendar month. Final rankings determine prize winners where prizes are offered.
2. Wins Leaderboard
2.1 How It Works
- Each correct pick counts as one Win.
- The more Wins you accumulate during the leaderboard period, the higher you rank.
2.2 Tie-Breakers
If two or more players finish with the same number of wins, ties are resolved in this order:
- Win Percentage
- (Wins ÷ Total Picks). The higher percentage ranks higher.
- Longest Streak
- The player with the longest streak of consecutive correct picks during the period ranks higher.
- Prize Pool Split (Final Tie Stage)
- If still tied, the prizes for all affected positions are converted to cash if not already cash, and combined and split equally among all tied players.
- Example: If two players tie for 1st, the 1st + 2nd place prizes are pooled and divided equally. The next player receives the prize for the position after the tied group (3rd prize in this case).
3. Streak Leaderboard
3.1 How It Works
- A streak increases with each consecutive correct pick.
- Your highest streak achieved during the leaderboard period determines your ranking.
3.2 Tie-Breakers
If two or more players have the same longest streak:
- Most Wins in the Period
- The player with more total wins ranks higher.
- Win Percentage
- (Wins ÷ Total Picks). The higher win percentage ranks higher.
4. Points Leaderboard
4.1 How It Works
- Points are earned through a variety of platform actions defined by BossPicks.
- Prizes for points leaderboards are awarded via a random draw. The leaderboard ranks players by points and shows the number of entries into the draw. If two or more players have the same number of points, they are listed alphabetically, and they have the same number of entries into the draw.
- The points award system may be changed between leaderboard periods - this will not affect the current points leaderboards but may affect future ones.
4.2 Referral Points
Players may earn referral points by inviting new users to BossPicks. Referral points are awarded only when:
- The referred user signs up using the referrer's unique referral link; and
- The referred user completes 30 picks.
After these requirements are met, the referrer receives the current points allotment for a successful referral towards the current Points leaderboard, even if the referral was initiated during a previous leaderboard's period. Referral points may therefore accrue to a future Points leaderboard.
Note that the allotment of points for a successful referral may change between leaderboard periods.
BossPicks may correct, withhold or deduct referral points where errors are found or where referral abuse, fake accounts, or manipulation is suspected.
5. How Prize Pool Splitting Works (Applies to All Leaderboards)
BossPicks uses a fair, industry-standard prize pooling method:
- If players are tied for a prize position after all tie-breakers,
- The prize amounts for all affected positions are added together and divided equally among the tied players.
Example
Prize table:
- 1st = R1000
- 2nd = R500
- 3rd = R200
If two players tie for 1st:
- They occupy 1st and 2nd prize positions.
- Prize pool = R1000 + R500 = R1500
- Each player receives R750
- Next player gets the 3rd-place prize of R200.
This keeps the system fair and avoids a tied 1st-place player receiving the same amount as 2nd place.
6. General Rules
- Only one account per natural person is allowed.
- Accounts found to be violating rules may be suspended or disqualified and are not eligible to win prizes.
- BossPicks reserves the right to correct obvious data errors (picks, points, streaks, standings) before the end of the leaderboard period.
- Some events may need to be voided (no outcome declared). Voided events do not count towards user correct picks, points and user stats. Users are able to see which events have been voided.
